This was the first piece where I used free motion stitching to secure the flowers and batik fabric to the back-ground before beading.
I was in a hurry and needed a piece for a demo at the Houston International Quilt Show. Usually I hand stitch because I like the continuity of stitching on the back and the beads are put on by hand. This time there was no time and when the dust settled I found I didn’t mind the combination of hand and machine stitching for the quilting.
